Why Should You Be Part of Boshkung Lake Property Owners’ Association?

We have been in existence since the 1940’s and were incorporated in 1999 as a not-for-profit corporation in the Province of Ontario.

In our By-Laws, there are a number of good reasons for you to become a member:

Purposes -

(a)    promote and maintain friendly, cooperative and mutually beneficial relationships among the members of the Association for the overall betterment of Boshkung Lake and its environment;

(b)    promote, educate and provide a forum for the members on topics relating to the environment, enhancing water quality and shoreline preservation, and the continued long-term health, welfare and enjoyment of Boshkung Lake;

(c)     promote and undertake activities, projects and events for betterment of the members and Boshkung Lake;

(d)   provide a forum for the members to raise concerns, issues and other complementary purposes for their greater enjoyment and betterment of Boshkung Lake not inconsistent with these purposes;

(e)    co-operate and work with all levels of government, departments and agencies to preserve and promote the rights and privileges of the members as they may be affected by the actions of various levels of government, individuals, businesses or others; and

(f)      identify, monitor and promote awareness of issues of mutual interest and that affect Boshkung Lake and the members.

In other words, let’s have some fun, but try to make sure that this lake prospers for future generations to come.

We have an annual meeting for all members to attend and set direction of the association for the next year. We have an annual Regatta on Civic holiday weekend which has been a tradition for probably 70+ years. And we have a fun event in August, currently a Golf Tournament and Dinner.

Life long friendships are made and many lake people met here and are now bringing their own families to enjoy this fabulous and special place.
